Surviving Minnesota!

Rain is over . Clear for next 7 days or so it says . Coffee is brewing . I started using Dunkin Donuts coffee . Not as fancy as the stuff Ralphie buys but really better than Folgers . Cooler temps but still warm . Have not needed heat only a few days . Usually heating by now . It is nice hunting and not being cold . Been thinking about cabin project . Thinking of wood instead of drywall . Hmmm . Now I need to pull a Ralphie and sell the next idea to DW . I think I can justify a sawmill purchase . Norwood will sell stripped down models and you can add options any time . Might be able to grow into a nice one . I can save enough on lumber to cover the cost and still have the mill . I have wanted one for 30 years . Need to sharpen my pencil and polish up my selling skills for DW .

Well I guess I will keep posting . I can get black locust trees here to mill into deck boards . Naturally rot resistant . Will last 40 years as fence posts . Cousin has some nice straight ones on her property . Bet I could buy some . Hedge is good but seldom straight . Not sure how good mulberry lasts . It has milky sap (oil ) also .

Do you men just joke that you will have to ask your wives if you can buy something? do you really ask? I wonder because my DH never asks he buys whatever he wants.
I think it's nice to discuss large purchases with your spouse.

This election is not ideal, but none of them ever are. My choice is easy as the difference is vote for crude or vote for criminal. If this is too political and I get banned oh well.

Hope all have a nice day. I am enjoying the global warming while it lasts.

Morning all.

Coffee is good today... Jerry I have cheaper coffee than the dunkin donut ones. But I like it better. It is some I found on Amazon and bought because it was cheaper than most. Now I get 80 k cups a month delivered. I have a few hundred cups stored up so I should not run short for a while.

I stock pile 2 things ammunition and coffee, I figure with those I can survive until the end of the world.

Why would you want boards that will only last 40 years? You do realize in 40 years you will have to redo them.

Anyone know what kind of critter leaves this track: I looked at the MN DNR site and cannot find a match

The shell is 20 ga. The two claws spook me a tad as it was only 30 ft from my pole barn.

There are two methods I use, I am hoping this is not against the husband code to mention..

The first is "if I think" she will approve I ask her..

If there is some doubt that she will see the value of what I need or want, I buy it and then hide it from her at least a day so I can say, "oh I have had that awhile".

Not everyone is like this though because as we all know I am the perfect husband..

Actually I am many times too slow to pull the trigger on things, as I am CHEAP....... I know it.... . It is genetic. I let too many good buys slip away because of my need to mull it over a few days.

I have been wanting a snow plow for my pickup I am tired of sitting in the cold and plowing snow, I have been thinking about this for a couple years. She claims she is buying me one for my birthday. She must be tired of my thinking about it.

If it is less than $100 I just buy, if it is over, I think about it for ages.
