Surviving Minnesota!

I need to get a pic of a couple of my project pullets Getting close to point of lay Wish I could of shown them . They were not old enough and I was too busy to tame them . I have been looking at woodworking tools . I think I will get a router table to set up for making tongue and grove cuts I can then turn my boards into tongue and grove boards . A better fit than plain edged boards . The ideas keep coming . I will need a garden at the lake next year Tomatoes and cucumbers at the very least . I checked out the black locust tree at my chiropractors place . Top was storm damaged years ago Been eyeing that tree for years . Got permission to cut it a couple of years ago . Still have permission . I tried to hug it to check diameter . Only got half way around . Must be about 4 foot straight through . Should make some nice deck boards . I will have to reduce the diameter to make it fit on the sawmill . A little chainsaw work should do the trick .

Jerryse...seems like a router would be a must. How many people, passing by, must have wondered about that man hugging the locust tree.

Yes you are right . Used this method when selecting oak trees to cut . Nothing smaller than fingers touching = 16 inch + logs .
