Surviving Minnesota!

Thanks guys. That was nice of you.

Cleaned the coop yesterday. Happy to be around all my girls. Reggie is a very sweet and calm rooster. The newest six are now 11 weeks old and are trying hard to begin incorporating theirselves with the big girls. There are times the big girls are in the front of the coop with the young ones for a while - then I block them out again. They pretty much eat and drink together and have since the chicks were feathered out.

Nice warm weather. I wonder if it will change because it certainly has been proven that the weather professionals have a lot of guess work to do in their line of work. It seems that they rarely get it right. In my HO.

We have school today...

As I sit here and sip my Nectar of Life and look out the window towards Erilbrd"s house I see a nasty ugly looking cloud bank that looks like snow to me......

But the radar shows nothing so I might be imagining it.

Holm and ILL

What kind of fences do you guys run where you graze cattle? Barbed wire? High tension?

Trying to decide what I want to put up around my new pasture. Maybe high tension, maybe field fence with a hot wire on top... so many choices!!

A single strand hot wire high enough for you to step over does great. And personally it doesnt take much more than that. We only do a double strand along the driveway because it looks nicer. I will get pics of what we use.

There is a thick cloud cover and every now and then we get a snow shower that lasts 10 minutes.

Here you go @KlopKlop

This is the fence by the drive way. Just a Tpost and 2 insulators.

Every 50-60 yards there is a big wood post. We have really nice gravel right here so don't cement these posts but if you dont have heavy gravel cement would be a good idea.

These are the best inventions ever for fencing(after the fencing pliers). You can get them for like $5.00 a piece at L&M Fleet here. You use one for each strand of wire. So you only put them on one end of the wire and the other end of the wire is just attached to a circle insulator.

If you want more pics I will get them!
