Surviving Minnesota!

Good morning.

For your warm fuzzy enjoyment.please ignore the dirty broader. I cleaned less than 12 hours ago and the little poop machines went to town again.

Layers sounds like you might have plantar fasciitis on the arch. (More common than you would think) you can do shoe inserts but they say the foot relies then too much on the inserts and it doesn't really solve the problem. An exercise for it would be to take a campbells soup can and roll your foot back and forth over it. Like when your sitting watching tv or on your phone. Just roll it on the floor with the plantar surface of your foot.

As for hip and knee issues at your age and rate of growing may I suggest a chiropractor to align and adjust. I've done this multiple times for my 14 almost 15 year old daughter. One muscle in her back was pulling up her leg so it was working shorter than the other. I know it sounds weird but honestly it can affect everything you do if you're not aligned Right.

That would make sense but why when I'm not doing much activity is what's getting me, track starts on the 27 of February so I guess I'll see if it gets worse then.
I went to the chiropractor before school started to see if they could see what was wrong with my hip and knee and they said they couldn't help

, I'm thinking I just need to go and ask some athletic chiropractor. I'll ask the AD today if she knows anyone

Layers,,and others that care here....

I have whined about my knee being bad for years. I had surgery on it 8-10 years ago. I thought I needed a knee replacement.

I finally went to see the Dr who sent me to the Ortho surgeon for a knee replacement. He took a look at my knee and x-rays and said my knee looked good. He thought I had an old injury or hamstring spasm.

He sent me to a Physical therapist. In my mind I was thinking waste of time and money. He started working on my leg and knee. He gave me a couple stretches to do. To make a long story short.

He found an old injury, I am guessing 30-40 year old to the side of my calf. He started working it and found a spot that felt like a large shooter marble in size deep in my muscles of the calf. He worked it over and over and over.

It hurt like crazy at the same time it felt good. Anyways 8 weeks later, I have no knee pain. What I thought was a bad knee was actually 5 inches below the knee. It seems where we feel pain is not allows where the pain or injury it.

So what BC said makes sense. Also I have had the Plantar facitidiesousoesdertedsaous she mentioned (spelling might be in error). There is a way to tape the foot that gives it support without your foot becoming dependent on it. I happen to have some of the "blanks" the foot doctor uses to tape the foot. ( that will teach him to have a pile of them laying around when Judy has a empty purse)....... We use them once every couple years when my foot acts up.

Good luck on it all,,,

Morning! I tried to read back but you kids are way too chatty =)

@MNChickMom , RIRs and BRs? I picked up two Barred Rock chicks last last week - I just love them and mine are such friendly hens!

I hope all else is well with everyone! I've been busy at work, so haven't been able to visit much. What's up with the Cancun, Mexico weather? I love it for cleaning off poop boards, but man is it muddy and gross by the coops. I wish I could get grass down out there.

Dominiques, rir, and buckeyes. We have a few barred rock, they are whiny and vocal but Lay very well.

I just let the hens out to free-range. Checked on the bare naked RIR and happy to see many fuzzies on her back about 1/4" long. It has been a diligent road traveled with her - especially the past two weeks.

Surprise! it is a CW sitting in the brooder box on the three sacrifice eggs to lure a broody hen into brooding. That is the first time I have seen any hen in that box.
