Surviving Minnesota!

I kind of wondered if they'd be asparagus. Mmm. Sounds good.
Last night I made a big cookie tray of veggies olive oiled, seasoned and with chicken breasts. Mmmm was that good. Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, green beans, carrots, zucchini. We need a lot more veggies in this house.

Jerry have you decided on a general plan for your cabin already? Or still mulling over ideas. Will Butch be digging this trip? I saw him at work backfilling our construction project. He's a great guy - you will like him. Cass county likes working with him too.

Ralphie give Judy our best and don't forget to empty the jean pockets before you put them in the wash machine for her.

The vehicle licensing in the US could be a hassle for you. Here in Indiana (a farm-friendly state), sawmills are in the same category as other farm equipment. I don’t have to license my sawmill to tow it on Indiana’s roads. My son-in-law, the deputy sheriff, tells me that he’s pretty sure that states honor each others’ licensing laws. Of course, that may apply only to non-commercial equipment. Commercial equipment, like a sawmill, may have to be licensed in every state you traverse on your way to the border.

It may be simpler, if not cheaper, to bring a Canadian registered flatbed trailer down here, load the sawmill onto it, and tow the thing home on your legally registered Canadian vehicle.

Never underestimate the trouble that government bureaucrats can create for an honest citizen.

Good luck with it all,

Here is something I found while trying to check Wi laws on the subject .

Your Son in Law is correct. The states have no choice under the "Traffic Compact" between states.

I was thinking you would come through Iowa and not Wi. Wi can be a pain. The problem you might have if you find an overly zealous officer is an implement of husbandry is not allowed on a freeway.

Not sure . Ieft a message this morning . A lot may depend on the concrete guys schedule . Not a good idea to leave a hole open for weeks . Rain could cave it in . One end walk out so no pond if it rains first .

I can watch TV because I will have control of the remote...anything I want.... on the BIG screen!!
I can eat PB&J for dinner and avoid making a miserable mess in the kitchen!!!
I can hang out with my dogs, horses and chickens without hearing the words "When are you coming in to make dinner?"
I can sleep with the window open!!!!!
I won't get up in the morning and find the coffee pot empty!!!!

jk - he's a keeper...oh I love that man of mine

Attention. I am headed back out to coop to document arrival of last batch (so far) of chicks that arrived this morning. I had requested "chickens" for Christmas from anybody who asked and everyone obliged. I have now successfully used all my Cackle Hatchery Gift Cards for the year .... just received my Surprise Box this morning

54 total; 2 DOA; 1 more who looks a lil on the rough edge. Otherwise I am impressed. DH is not hahahah. His words to me this spring at one point were "No Stupid Chickens", in reference to the Polish babies at the local Runnings brooders. Well wouldn't you know....3 Turkens; 5 Polish; and at least 10 Cochins (ORRRR, what else has furry legs? Maybe a Maran???) - all those are firmly in the category of "Stupid Chickens", according to local resident chicken expert....Also known as, DH.
