Surviving Minnesota!

Layers, congrats! Great job and I'm glad you had a good time! It is so odd that they have your state fair so early. I'm wondering who even has their veggies done, let alone their canning up here? Also birds not full grown yet? Very odd.

Cluckies, I thought I was the only one up thinking about chickens at this hour.

Sister is in the hospital until the baby is born. 1 to 5 weeks longer. 1 more week will be 34 weeks. That is the earliest they want to pull them. She is on bed rest. Blood pressure still high. :( I visited yesterday, gonna go today as well. I purchased a kindle fire for her and giving her a 25 dollar gift cert. I had A healthy me rewards from work that I bought amazon gift cards with. Had my daughter order it as she can get 1 hour delivery. Picked it up on the way home last night. Now I know where all our rain goes. Torrential down poor from mpls through plymouth. Got just north of new hope, dry as a bone.

Good morning all.

Cluckies good luck to your sister and baby, babies?

I woke up a little earlier than usual because of a strange dream, not scary just weird.
weird weird. :hmm

I have thought it could be mink her by the lack of squirrels and chipmunks, but it could also be the fantastic barn cats I got from Holm. They are constantly killing mice and dropping them in the barn. We have seen them going into the field to kill them and bring them to the barn. I have live traps in the barn and have not had a mouse in one in 3 months! I recommend barn cats to anyone.....Which I might have to give away soon. GC seems to have that pregnant gut look.....

Judy has ruined OC. He now wants to be held and petted all the time. She refused to leave him alone. Why do women always ruin the greatest plans of men????????:oops:

:pop
I will defend Judy here...ALL of our MALE cats are our biggest babies and want to be pet and held ALL the time! The females not so much unless they are about to have kittens. Then they get more lovey.

I have given away 5 barn cats this summer and have 8 more nearly 2 weeks old. One more cat was pregnant. I haven't checked to see if she had babies yet or not though. Next time MN SNAP comes around I am bringing in the females to be fixed. I will take care of all our animals but over 13 kittens in a summer is too many.

I have been there with your sister. I was on strick bed rest at home with a hospital stay at the start for 10 weeks before the twins were born at 36 wks 2 days. Not fun at all! You get so bored and your mind so befuddled that you can't think. You beg for night fall so you can go to sleep to pass the time away! Sidelines is a organization to support those on bedrest. You may want to google it. It could be of support for her.

I also lived in Plymouth for a while in high school and Crystal. July we got a lot of rain I remember. Now way up North here we have wet Junes and dry dry Julys.

People in my area have always thought it was maybe because that is the only time a lot of kids could make it up to the state fair. If it was sometime in the fall I know I couldn't go. They probably also try to avoid MN, SD, and MT state fair dates as well as serious showers espeically in large livestock will travel from one to the next. As for the birds not being mature anyone who is there to win is hatching birds in May, June, July, August the previous year for fair. As the only way you can win is with a mature bird. That is how my cockerel got beat, a Brahma cockerel that was 11 months old compared to my 9 month old one. As for the canned goods I have no idea, maybe they start the plants inside. I did walk past some of the what displays and that looked very nice and developed

Hopefully everything goes well with your sister
