Surviving Minnesota!

Morning everyone

Seems like 100 years ago when it's only been 20, but I did the same thing. Started oboe in 5th Grade and after junior year when all of our bass section (small school) graduated, I learned bassoon instead. How I kept girls away, I'll never know.
Wow! Both of those instruments are lost arts! Pretty cool

Hello everyone... I did a dumb and got sprayed by a skunk tonight while shooting it.... He has been getting in the "cat garage" the past few nights amd eating the catfood and I finally saw him and chased him a long ways from the house and shot him but the smell came back with me and ggoooodddd night does it smell...
Didn't anyone ever tell you to shoot upwind:lau:lau

I never take a coat to school til December either, granted I usually don't ride the bus til Decmeber either!
I usually wear a coat for chores, never know what you will be doing. Even though my coat is just a windbreaker, and its zipper doesn't work. No wonder I always come in cold:confused:

I am pretty excited, band is pretty boring, I have been playing trumpet for 7 years now. It is really not much of a challenge anymore, and it has gotten to easy. So today while the JH was NWEA testing, all of us HSers, about 18 of us. We notice that our best percusionist, who just moved here this year, is not here, band teacher announces he moved. So we were short a percussionist 2 weeks before the concert. So in some full sections, flutes and trumpets, she let some of the kids try out for his parts. While they were doing that the subject of trombones came up, we have 1 VERY good player, and one kid who just sits there. So I kind of jokingly said I would learn trombone. The band teacher looks at me and says "Can you read bass cleff?", I said "Yes" and she says "Thats not a bad idea! Only downside is that during pep band you will be switching back and forth, which will take some getting used to but you would be fine". So we talked about it for a little while and i think we are going to try it. I am pretty excited as trombone is so cool!:celebrate
LOL ILLS - you like a little bit of a challenge. Thats a positive trait to have. I know I am sounding like a grandma here however, it important stuff to know going forward. You may have known this looking backwards and now you are to the point of older and wiser when it comes to self. What you determine to develop now will serve you well going forward. So take the upper road and challenge yourself to do just a little more when it comes to using what you are learning. You are going to do well as an adult - whether you are farming or preparing to be a president of the USA.

When we call Holm Stinky it must be said through the nasal passage. S T I N K Y nasally makes much more of an impression.
Good Morning Chickeners . . . .
Old subject but I got my DNA back. No surprises. 70% English. My mother's name is Hancock. Dah! The French / French Canadian showed up and I thought it would be more than 11%. Actually this is a subject for Jerryse wife and me so I won't be boring you chickeners anymore. Its just interesting to me.
What is the skunk shampoo for people? I know its tomato juice for animals.

Anyone grow Siberian pea shrub . Thinking of growing some . Said to make seeds good for humans and chickens/wildlife . I have tree seeds coming today . Mostly stuff that will not grow at the lake . Persimmon , Paw Paw , Pecan and Hybrid chestnut . The Dunstan type chestnut might grow there .
