Surviving Minnesota!

IMG_20171112_213009_095.jpg

Got my buck, a small racked 4×4 with a huge body. Dad and both couldn't lift it onto the pickup, we had to take the tailgate off and use it as a ramp. Now as long as I don't see anything bigger I will live in peace for the rest of the season

Hahaha! ....and there you have it Ed... Nice Muley, Layers! Atta girl.

Our strain of white tails are so small around here. Just always impressed with muleys’ size...
Thanks.
Our whitetails are slowly getting bigger, which is nice to see. Quite a few years back my late great uncle, who we bought the ranch from, shot a 6×6 whitetail here, some neighbor kids were chasing it and it jumped the fence and he shot it.

There is larger strains down where my folks came from in Southern MN— corn fed and limestone springs and creeks. Then towards the north of us there are larger Canadian strains again. Lots of basket racks around here. A few nice ones but a lot of smallish ones.

Omg she is never going hunting accompanied by her father again. My mom sent these 2 pictures. View attachment 1185188been removed pile.View attachment 1185189 left to conquer.
No word if she shot anything just the above pictures. Not a happy momma...especially one who is sitting at home sick over deer hunting.
She gotta wear the hair in a braid! I can't go anywhere with mine down especially hunting!

This does not look fun. I am not looking forward to a teenage daughter.
We aren't that bad!

BC where I hunt we have the bigger Canadian strains... The thing about whitetails is they are about 20x smarter than Mule deer! A lot of our friends that have hunted Muleys said that it was like walking out in a pasture and shooting a cow compared to hunting white tail
