Yesterday I put things on the apple tree trunks to protect from sunscald and mulched them. One tree that hasn't looked good and didn't fruit this year has what looks like fungus on the trunk. I wonder if I should cut it down now or leave it until next year? what can I do to prevent the fungus from killing my other apple trees.

I have a spray, but to be Honest, it seems worthless...

My trees seem to only have apples every other year.

Yes. That would mean the tree is dead or dying I guess.

Kill the mushroom..but it could be too late now.if it is fruiting...the shroom, not the tree...

I am guessing. EJB or Jerry will know. I have faith in those old guys.
