Surviving Minnesota!

OH NO!!!!

NO NO NO NO...

what will I do if I don't get fudge...
The Appenzeler Spitzhauben does not have a knob on their head. At least none of them that I have seen.
Did I tell you all that we got over 6" of snow yesterday and more today. My chickens don't care. They come out to free range anyway, but they are not finding much to eat.

Are the appletiniis out and about? Nothing seemed to slow them down here. They are one tough little bird.

I have one or two birds come out for a few minutes, otherwise they all sit in the back room of the coop...( I have a two room coop) and wait for me to bring them more feed and water...

I am contemplating not waiting on them hand and foot and making them eat outside.

That's what I do. Lazy birds.

feed them inside....or make them eat outside?

When I bring the bucket of feed to the door,,They all look at me bright eyed and smiling, then move back from the feeder so I have a clear path to it...

They have feeders outside, but there is no way they are going to walk those 8 steps outside to the feeder, when I am dumb enough to bring it to them inside!

Make them eat and drink outside. My ducks would flood the coop if I brought water inside, and the constant scratching from the chickens fills the food bowl with shavings.

I feed my birds outside most of the time but lately have been giving them feed inside because I have a few old ladies. My Appletini and Buckeyes are outside a lot compared to some of my other birds. Not even my Guineas are dumb enough to sit outside
