Surviving Minnesota!

My car thermometer said -29 this AM.
Junior has an ice cube wattle this morning.?he’ll have a bad wattle for a while. Poor boy. Coop stayed at -5 though. My premier didn’t have a working red bulb so the birds didn’t have that going for them until this morning. I put it on and the coop went to 5 above. Crazy.

Negative 24 this morning. The coop was 14 above all closed during the night. Open pop door now so they come out for awhile but I’ll close it up again in a couple hours.
We had a stray cat living in a cardboard box on our porch the last 4/5 days, DH put a heating pad in the box with a blanket... anyway we took her to the Babinski Foundation this afternoon so it will find a new home, hopefully soon.

Good afternoon everyone... Last night when I walked out to the coop it was only two degrees in there (which felt super warm) and I still have zero frostbite and I quit the Vaseline about a week ago after I saw what it did to my gloves (destroy them and put holes in them) and I still haven't had any issues.

Have you tried coconut oil?

Cows are amazing creatures... The cold doesn't even bug them!
