Surviving Minnesota!

We had a new bird at our bird feeder a little bit ago.

I do not think I have ever had one at the feeder before. I know I have not seen one up close before.

A yellow shafted northern flicker.... I see them a lot while walking in fields and woods. Just not at the feeders.

Here he is, sorry the picture is poor, but he was so cool....View attachment 1317255

here is a picture I stole of one.

The one we had was whiter on the breast. It looked like it was wearing a spotted tux vest.

The sun has now come out and the approx. 1/2 inch of snow from this morning is melting. Latest storm report is snow will only progress a far E as Gr Rapids and as far N as Sandstone. I am disappointed we will miss out but such is life !!
