I appreciate all the unbiased advice. Doing what’s best for them is always my interest. We aren’t looking to breed but if that changes later, I’ll be sure to note this particular bird. They must have a lot of eggs hatch out because I feel like if one has the genes, another would likely too but the other three don’t. The fact that this little chick was launching herself around and getting to the water, food, and heat in her own stumble way makes me want to try since she/he is trying. May end up that it’s a roo and gets a trip to freezer camp down the line anyways. But the Brahmas are really my pets out of all the breeds so I’m willing to take on a not 100% bird. Any meat bird or layer may not have had the same luck in the boyfriend’s eyes. He already is iffy on this chick, but being in the cities all week has no say.
Now to be a pest later, I’ll be posting some photos of my tiny surprise chick to see if you guys have a guess at breed. My really quick look had me thinking Copper Maran, but I need to look closer when I get home. Hopefully with the chick being smaller than the rest they didn’t send me a bantam breed. I want big chickens!
