Incubator... Ubless he gave them to his broody?Broody right?
Could be any time, but I find they go longer most the time. We have a tendency to think they have started when they are still practicing.

Broody/flock question.
While home over lunch today, I noticed my Brownie was out. Haven't seen her off nest since Sat. I went out to see what was up. A different hen (Sunny) was sitting on the nest. I wondered if this was happening. I've been taking one of her eggs out of the clutch each day.
When Brownie went back to the nest I expected to see her kick Sunny off. Instead, she seemed confused and settled into the adjacent nest. Out of curiosity, I scooted Sunny off the clutch. She went back in and settled on them.
Will they take turns? Will the eggs end up abandoned this afternoon?
Learning is fun.

That's my guess. It's that dang nesting box they all use. I probably should have moved the eggs to the broody in the adjacent, less popular box.Did the broody just take a break and sunny is in to lay an egg?
Drove back home. Sunny was still on clutch, plus one of hers. Broody walking around in coop. That's my guess. It's that dang nesting box they all use. I probably should have moved the eggs to the broody in the adjacent, less popular box.
