Surviving Minnesota!

I survived.....

Erlibrd many of the SS have crooked toes,. especially the center one. Hatchery birds are notorious for it.

I have it on about half my chicks. I do not have it on cuddles or any of my breeders but it still shows up way too often.

The 4h kid has crooked toes on all of his SS, which is why I wanted some of mine. I told him to increase the protein during the fast growth period. I am not sure if it helps, but it seems to. If use 28% gamebird starter I seem to have less bad toes.

Thanks for that info Ralphie. Yes it's a center toe and the nail doesn't get used as it should so I'll need to cut it periodically.

It did not rain here yesterday, but we got .8 inches on Friday and .4 last night. Some parts of Duluth got flooded, but I am over the hill in more ways than one !
erlibrd, glad to read your vehicle is repaired. Now you should be able to properly signal a turn. Be careful while backing up.

Ralphie, are you running as an independent candidate? If so, perhaps I could get you a photo op with the POTUS when he is in Duluth ?

Thanks ejb i'm sure I will be more careful. We had 1 and 2/10 in. of rain yesterday early in the day. Last night we got an additional 3 inches.

Went over to a neighbors to put a building up. When we got there it was sprinkling, we weren't able to out up any rafters when it started to pour, and there was lightning so the owner told us to go in the barn to wait it out. An hour later it came back down to a sprinkle and we started again, we got 3 rafters up when it started to rain hard again and the lightning came back so we all started taking tools down. Before we could get under shelter the storm broke loose so we ran to the vehicles and went up to the garage. We were all soaked, it didn't stop raining enough for us to get out and work until about 2:30. When we finally got out there we were able to put up all 20 rafters, put up all the rat runs and 3 sides of tin on this 30×80 building in a little over 6 hours, I wished we would have been able to work all day and get everything done but I will take the rain any day. We got around 2 inches!

Riddle me this why is every one more concerned about fresh unwashed eggs from this morning being on the table than what's in the bowl? When did america get to the point of not knowing how basic things work.... I was told to throw away the eggs but that the strawberries were perfectly safe. So is every one dangerous like me or do you immediately wash and refrigerate? ( if they're clean I dont wash )View attachment 1431225

I Just get the poos/mud spots off if there is any. Then I refrigerate because I like my counter space and it’s a habit for me to tuck them away there. If people are worried about eggs setting in a bowl unwashed they are uneducated about bloom.

...sort of like the FDA.
