I was accompanied by a non-Vexilar owning woman today....Only the Vexilar owner caught fish.....I assume she will want to enter a raffle soon..

Morning . It was 7 degrees here . Snow coming tonight then freezing drizzle turning into rain . A slippery mess in the morning .

I candled eggs today, again.... Good thing, I thought I had chicks hatching next week....I was wrong. Some were starting to externally pip...

I also candled turkey eggs......good thing... One of the eggs must not be a turkey. I assume it is a toad egg. It was externally pipped.

I know some of you wonder how I can possibly mix a turkey and toad egg up, it really is not hard to do, if one does not mark them in the coop..... When I wash them before going into the incubator, I make the "error". Some of the turkey eggs are not real spotted, some of the toad eggs are real spotted. The eggs are about the same size with the toad eggs being larger than the Royal Palm eggs (that's a turkey for you none turkey folks)...

Long story short, I might have a new toad in the next 24 hours or so...

The line going to the hydrant we use all winter for all the livestock, horses, cows out in the pasture, cows in corral and chickens, has frozen again this winter. What a lovely time of the year....

Not to brag or anything but this egg survived in my pocket while I did chores and the drive home in my pocket without me knowing...

Sad to hear of the passing of one of my southern bird buddies that sent me all sorts of chicks for free last year. Will miss talking birds and Faith with him.

With there only being 2 chicks I thought it would be fun to weigh them occasionally. 2 weeks old here are there current weights
