Surviving Minnesota!

All is well here. Flock good and healthy, 6 hens giving 4 or 5 eggs daily, so if need be, we can get Judy's omelette needs covered.

The young rooster that we kept crows like a son of a gun. On and off all day. They neighbors are less than thrilled. They were fine with Sentry. He didnt so too much crowing beyond daybreak. I had hoped that getting rid of his competition would get the crowing to a minimum. Any ideas?
I'm in the same boat. I thought getting rid of the big loud mouth would quiet the place down. Nope. Simon is now crowing off and on all day. So far no complaints from the neighbors, but he sure is annoying me.

The neighbors haven't said anything, but they weren't super thrilled with the one that wasn't annoying. We only have .5 acre with neighbors on either side.

Hello. I’m newbie chicken lady from North Dakota. Pretty quiet in that thread so thought I’d say hi here. Happy May 18. My 11 seven week old and 5 five week old chicks had no desire to come out when I let them out this morning.

It rained the whole time at regionals yesterday, most of the time the windchill was below 25°, we were all cold and wet. I was able to add 2 more events for state, I have 5 now. I did not do either of the hurdles, which kept me from qualifying in the 100 hurdles which was a bummer, it was not worth the risk of injury.
This is what we woke to this morning
