Surviving Minnesota!

Way too hot here..
Well, it was kinda hot... but it WASN’T SNOWING!!! :celebrate
The geese put themselves to bed... all four of them. No more chasing them around the paddock.

Hanna Belle is now just plain Hannah. Either the oats worked or she doesn’t like bitter apple spray. No feather pulling at all in the last two days. It’s as if it never happened. :ya I have to come up with names for the rest of them now.

Brynn squeezed right through the barbed wire fence into the neighbor’s pasture land. It’s not that great, either. It hasn’t been non-winter long enough. She likes to scratch on the wire. Luckily he hasn’t visited his pasture in at least 20 years. :idunnoThe free-range Angus eat it all summer. I had to lure her around over his fence (which is generally non-existent or at best, lying on the ground), and back through the front yard to their paddock. She’s a fool for sweet feed.

There were a bunch of guys working on one of the roofs that was wrecked by hail last summer/fall. They were supposed to get it finished but there was a severe thunderstorm warning, 1/2” hail (and it was getting late) so they left. They were never going to have it done before dark anyway. Yes, the alleged storm didn’t come, at least not here. It did cool us down, though, so that was nice.

I got 13 eggs. The hens must like warm weather.

Morning. Tuesday was hot, yesterday reached into the 80s but it was windy so it did not feel to bad. Regional track was supposed to be on Saturday but due to it supposed to snow, high winds, and a high of 38°. So they have moved it to Friday which has a high of 47°, rain and winds up to 30mph. It will be a fun day for sure, only positive is my hurdle record should be safe for this year

Yeah, Tuesday was hot. My son came home that evening and asked me if I mowed the lawn or tilled the garden like I planned. I said no, it was hot. He gave me an exasperated look. I'm sorry son, but I just can't go from 45 degrees to 75 overnight, I need time to acclimate. I did what I could, don't judge. lol

Ralphie. How about a post it on the outside saying “Partridge chantecler eggs. Do not touch. Hatching eggs only” then take a roll of gorilla tape and start wrapping it around the carton...? Idk... suggestions for next time I guess. TFred has nice birdies... .

Nice days. Rains at night. We’re good! Some pollen and birch irritations for me. But not too bad...
3?hens laying now. Patsy decided that 4 eggs was enough to give me this spring. Old girl. She was never prolific. But oh how I love that Welsummer egg...

I love my Welsummer eggs, too. I just have the one, and she lays most days of the week.
