Surviving Minnesota!

You will have a hard time getting an “avian” vet. While Minnesota has a quite a few, they all work for the large poultry companies. They concentrate on flock health and not on individual birds.

What are you looking to treat?

I find, and I think most here agree, we need to treat our birds ourselves the best we can. Depending on what the problem is culling becomes a very real option if the bird is suffering or their is a possibility of the disease spreading.
I apologize for the delay, we had family out all weekend. I have a couple MMM hens that I thought had gleet, and have treated it as such... But now I'm second guessing myself. They continue to have leaky bums, and poopy feathers. The hens seem to behaving normally, just look gross. Someone mentioned worms could be causing it. I was hoping to get a vet to give them a look over.

Something enjoyed the robin eggs, I read deer will eat robin eggs if they can reach them. These were the perfect height for deer chomping.

I only have one turkey still setting that I know of, The other day she was down to one egg, but after 5 months on the nest I am thinking the egg might not hatch.
Deer eating eggs ? News to me . I think it was a coon or more likely Pinocchio .

I'm not sure why we are so different than the northern parts of the state, but I think we've gotten at least 8 inches of rain this spring. My boyfriend was upset on Saturday because they said rain was supposed to start at 2 pm, and he had hay down. We can't get the hay up before it gets rained on again. First crop went well though. Instead, the rain waited until around 8, and I watched tornadoes forming from on my step. Not my favorite night this year, way too close for comfort. I hope the rest of you get rain soon!

My sister and I delivered and help proliferate the northern dux population to our friends in Sturgeon Lake on Saturday, and man was their lawn crunchy. I had no idea it was so dry up North!

I am up north but way up north. Doesn’t take long to get to the Canadian boarder from my house. @holm25 knows where I live he hunts up here if I remember correctly. Just miles from my house. We are wet Roseau has had over 10 inches of rain this season and that was a count from a few weeks ago. So I think it is the middle of the state that is dry. Not really the north. At least northwest.
