Surviving Minnesota!

I am 53 nautical miles south of Brainerd

I've never actually measured it myself, just was guessing on the time. It could take 35 minutes depending on how fast I'm driving, maybe 45 mins if the roads are full of cidiots . Since they put in the "freeway" from Baxter north it takes longer to get there...

Anyway, we didn't get much rain not enough to measure. Sprinkle/light rain ~ an hour.

Morning . So much to do and too hot to do much . Need to mow but mower is being a PITA . So I will work on it . It is like a revival . I will lay my hands on it and hope it heals . Just humor . Zuke and cucumbers starting to bloom . Hollyhocks in bloom . Raspberries are ripe and need picking . First crop of yellow transparent apples are ripe . Small crop . It is said yellow transparent is ripe at noon and rotten at midnight . Yes short window . Fond memories . Mom would say if you peel them I will make a pie when I get home from work . Hey pie is all I needed to hear .

My cucumbers have their first blooms.

The raspberries have begun to bloom. Two cups of wild gooseberries around here would be something to write home about, Bob. :lau I did find three almost pea-sized wild strawberries a few days ago. They were amazing. All the flavor of a "decent" store-bought strawberry condensed into a fruit only marginally bigger than a 🐞.:drool

I have wild strawberries growing right outside of the kitchen, The maximum size they ever get is about 1/4" in diameter. They do not have any sweetness to them at all. I treat them as an ornamental and allow them to grow for their pretty blossoms in the spring.
