Morning . Made it home . Going to rest up for a few days . Wore myself out . I have ripe tomatoes .

I got to mow the lawn two weeks in a row!!! I think this was my fifth mow of the year. Pretty crazy and sad.
I hope those up north stay safe with those fires burning. So sad to hear they might not be completely out till snow fall

I have a question, it could go in the meat birds thread but these aren’t actually meat birds but I will be eating them.
These Wyandotte cockerels will be butchered next week, the squirrels drop broken acorns from the trees and the chickens will eat them. They won’t break acorns to eat them just the already broken ones. Will the meat taste gross?
I don’t think I’ve seen the pullets eating acorns just the boys.

Mine tasted fine, I break the acorns for them. But I don't have many.
They fatten pigs on acorns and sell at higher prices

Morning . Spent the day in town with appointments . Dr told me to take it easy with the shoulder . My plan anyway . Had not seen my son in 7 years and he had not been to the lake in 20 years . Nice visit . Long way from Seattle . No stress this trip .

Morning . Saw lots of wild turkeys up north . One group had 3 hens and their poults . I think they were catching grasshoppers along the road . Good protein source for the poults .
