Well, that's the problem right there. No hatchery has Araucanas. Only 2 have true blue or black Ameraucanas that lay blue eggs, but you will pay $20/chick. Most hatchery "Araucanas", "Ameraucanas" and "Americanas" are really Easter Eggers. If you pay $3 a chick, it's an EE.

Did you get McMurray's Whiting true blues? I have a few and yes, they lay blue eggs.
YES ON THE BLUES, NO I DIDNT PAY ANY $20/CHICK FOR GREEN EGG LAYERS MORE LIKE $2.5O & THEY CALL THEM AURACANAS/ AMERAUCUANAS. GREEN LEGS- MUTTON CHOP SIDEBURNS- GREEN EGGS DISTINCTIVE FEATHER PATTERENS REGUARDLESS OF COLOR OF FEATHERS, WHERE ARE THE ''TRUE BLUE'' & ''BLACK AMERAUCANAS'' & WHERE ARE THE REAL ARAUCANAS??

Cackle has blue, black and lavender Ameraucanas (the lavs are new).

Meyer has blue Ameraucanas.

For Araucanas you will have to find a breeder. They're tough to breed - those ear tufts are associated with a lethal gene and approximately 25% die in shell.

I'm hopeful for blue eggs from this girl, but at this point, any eggs would be welcome, Betty is a freeloader!
