Swedish ducks sound like the ideal duck breed! They are (from what I have heard) friendly, not too loud, and cant fly. But... what I am concerned about is if they are too heavy of ducks and can get leg problems. I have had preious problems withPekin ducklings and I lost both of them due to leg problems. If this breed has leg problems it will probably be a no go. If so, what breed is best for me? thank you veer much!

I've had fabulous luck with my swedes for the past 3 years. Just this week though, one has developed some sort of leg paralysis or something... but her sisters are fine. Great layers, all around my favorite ducks, and I've got pekins, cayuga, runners, mallards and khaki campbells too.

Oh no! I was really checking into them last week after getting 3 and not knowing what they were. Didn't come across any info like that though. I hope that's not the case. :O(
Here are some pictures of them. They are quite funny to watch and I'm really enjoying them so far. I think that they've tripled in size over the last week and 1/2.

Yes, my Pekin duck all of a sudden had one totally limp leg. We took her to specialist and she had a fractured leg and had tone put down

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. I have raised hundreds of ducklings, and have never experienced leg problems. In fact, I have eight 2 month old Swedish ducklings right now, and they're all healthy as could be. No problems of any sort.

Oh gosh Im new to Ducks and I hope that is not the case, as I have 2 pekins and one Blue Swedish in error....woman at TSC told me it was a mallard, as it came from that bin...and it was the only one different, thats why I picked it....I thought oh!!!! a different kind of mallard!!! Ill take it. lol
