I spoke with Jenny from Greenfire Farms. would you believe the reason is that dry ice is shipped daily on flights to these zip codes or at least the ones in my area 544, 545, 548 and 556. Shipping to a friend not within these zip codes would require just as long a trip as going to the airport in Duluth, if I decide to have them shipped that way. Jenny said someone whose purchased from them and lives in Ark. has found a way to re-route the shipment to get chicks on a different flight that does not have the embargo. Would that be any of you on this thread?

Well i'm the someone in Arkansas and the chicks are doing great! I also have a dozen SFC in the bator.Last night my wife and i went to a once a month chicken sale in Ok. where last month there was a trio of SFC 8 weeks old that sold for about 40 bucks each,i kicked myself for not getting them.SO at this sale there where pair and a trio there.My wife said that it was my 55 birthday and she wanted to get me something over the top and don't let these get away no matter what the cost.Well i was thinking lets just see how high these will go.After a flurry of bidding i got all of them for 45 each.They are 8 and 6 weeks old and i just love them!!!

These are beautiful birds and such crisp photographs! The first picture of your little girl loving on a hen is priceless.
I'm glad Sugar is doing better now. Whew!! I know how I'd feel if I lost one of mine right now!

@ Chicken Coach, Lucky you!! To have found some pullets for sale AND to have a spouse that will encourage you to get more chickens. BRAVO!!!

Congrats Chicken Coach and Happy early birthday- enjoy those chicks and show us some photos!

My husband said we have enough chicks, that I should really sell some eggs...so I just put up a 24 hour auction for Isbars and Swedish eggs. Thought it would be a fun combo for someone!?!

Awwww! That photo of your daughter hugging the hen is precious! Pretty birds, too

Sad to say I've had to cancel my order from GFF, can't justify an added shipping cost plus 5 hr. round trip and gas, besides having goats due to kid any day this week. So someone else will get bumped up on the list and be happy! The 8 SFH I have are doing great, growing like crazy. hope they end up as pretty as yours.
