This is my newest chick. I am hoping pullet. It has a very yellow comb and zero waddle development. Unfortunately I am in a no-roo zone. Any guesses?

Hi Melabella!
Thanks for the reply, sorry about the delayed response, I'm new to using forums and such! I'd love to get some chicks in the spring- I appreciate the offer for pullets; although I am looking to keep just girls I also like to raise them from babies as they are indeed also our pets. I wouldn't be opposed to straight run chicks. We have lots of snow up here still and the temps are too cold for me to start any new babies this early. Would you be hatching any in late March early April? Thanks again!

Yes.. just let me know when you want them a bit in advance.. so I can schedule you in, and set for you. How many chicks do you think you would be wanting?

Omg... sorry Wooded Acres.. see I told you I was getting old... just made the connection.. HA HA

Do SFH have difficulty hatching, like some of the other rare breeds do? Three of 7 hatched yesterday, 3 have external pips and one is halfway zipped but seems to be taking a very long time to finish.

I guess not. 7 of 7 hatched. I ended up helping the one that was having trouble zipping. I don't usually help but I have never seen one stop zipping like that. He/she was just not positioned right but there were no veins and he/she is doing great.

Congrats on your 100% hatch rate. Must be it was a Brinsea Mini? Enjoy your little flowers!! :jumpy

You got that right. Best incubator ever. Just wish it was bigger. Just bought an Eco 20. I had to return it because it dropped down to 85 and I could not get it back up. Amazon is sending a replacement. I like the Mini so much better.

I have a mini and it is great, but like you said too small. I got an Incuview (holds 27) and hatched out a nice batch, not near 100%, but it had 3 separate issues wrong and I'm waiting for my new one in the mail. They did stand behind it and were great to work with.

I am hoping I will get used to the Eco 20. Lots of temp variation in the incubator. People on the Eco 20 thread said that was normal.
