Swedish Flower Hen Thread

I thought all my roos had split wing until they were about 3-4 months old, I was told to wait till they're fully feathered out before determining if they have split wing. As they feathered out, they're wing feathers filled out and they are all completely fine now. I wouldn't freak out about it yet. I did and it drove my hubby nuts!

Thanks! I am in same situation as @ddpbk1 who started the thread. I have a week old Swedish flower hen just like described in first post. My husband also says give it time. Your reply is very helpful! I hope it sorts out and I don’t have to tell the breeder that her breeders are carriers.

Beautiful! Which one is the cross? I have a pullet now like your crested orange one but mine has an orange crest.
She's the pumpkin colored one with no white tips on her feather sporting a black crest. I did sell both pullets like a week after posting the video to someone in my neighborhood. Surprised how fast they sold, had the ad up for about 9 hours and the couple bought them on sight.

I'm working on my next hatch I have 10 eggs from Snowflake, she has good coloring, comb size, and the largest eggs out of my group. I'm hoping to retain all those traits, except my rooster has a small crest which I don't like on the hens. But will see how it turns out.

Is this a "vaulted skull" or is it just extra-cresty? First time experience with SFHs.

It's not as abnormal as some vaulted pics seem to show. Chick is crazy healthy, running around, acting normal.

Thoughts.?

Might develop a larger crest than normal to early to tell, usually when feathers come in on the head you'll know the size of the crest.
