My little SFH is feathering out nicely. I wasn't expecting so much white!

Anyone want to guess the sex?

Anyone want to guess the sex?

A lot of the white goes away as they grow in their teenage/adult feathers. My guess is a very pretty cockerel.

WE HAVE MORE IN THE INCUBATOR, ONE IN LOCK DOWN, its been 5 months since the lkast SFH hatch.

Been way to long since I have been on this thread.. wow, really great pics!! Making me count the days until it's warm enough to start getting my SFH eggs!!! ACK!! I hope I can wait!!

The crested birds are a little harder to tell... but in my experience, the combs are wider and a little taller than those on the pullets. The non-crested birds... well, my boy had a larger comb from day 1.

These birds are also fairly easy to wing sex. If the feathers are all growing out at the same rate, it's usually a boy. If they're pretty staggered, a girl. You have to look in the first 3 days or so to really see it well.

Can't tell. She's sitting tight and I don't want to disturb her. I did zoom in on the photos and saw one starting on the BCM eggs. I sat out there a bit this morning and can hear peeping but didn't get to see anything.
