OK. Here are pics for my 2013 Breeding Pen 2. I am starting out with the darkest crested roo and my 10 non crested pullets. Another idea that I am thinking about is basicly "designer" eggs. In other words allowing people to choose what roos and hens that they would like to pair up for hatching eggs from. Obviously they would have to be reserved early enough to pair them up and wait to be sure that the hens have been away from other roosters, and they would be a little more expensive because of the extra labor involved, but it would give you the oportunity to select more toward what you are looking for. What are your thoughts? Would there be any interest in something like that?

I am working on setting up my breeding pens for 2013. Pen 1 will be my non crested roo with 6 crested pullets. The pullets are now about 23 weeks, and the roos are about 17 weeks. Pullets in pen 1 are all from Jordon Farms stock, and the roo is from kimberly35042. Here are photos of the group in Pen 1. I will work on getting pics of the planned Pen 2 group, which will be a crested roo over 10 non crested pullets.

Is anyone breeding crested Flowers together, in hopes of actually increasing the size of the crest on these birds?

I think a SFH with a big, poofy Polish-like crest would be gorgeous!
ETA: Anyone have any pictures of their birds with larger crests?

Hello Jeremy! Long time, no see on this thread. I have only non-crested roos at the moment. But I have seen a few pics on the thread with large crested birds. I don't think they were bred intentionally, though.

BTW - I still have Astolf

I had so many splash, and red/white pullets last year! I sold almost all of the mostly white ones as layers, but I HAD to keep her! She had such a large crest, and I love her silver neck. I really like the red/white girls with very distinct contrast between the red and white flowers as well. I do have my favorites.... but I love them all!
