Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Has anyone ever noted a "rumpless" SFH? I think I have one. Her tail is always pulled down and never stands up like the other SFHs. She was hatched along with two SFH hatch mates from some eggs that I got from a breeder in Florida. Beautiful cresting and colors. :) Thoughts?
I had a roo that was built that way. I thought at first it was because he was one of five roos at the time and was just always in a submissive pose. I gave him to a friend who returned him a year later. He still looked the same. I don't have him any longer, but here's a pic I took before he left. I wouldn't have used him for breeding because I just thought it was an unattractive body type.

I never heard of sfh before a couple of days ago, when I stumbled upon them in the breeds section of this site. I did some searching and found some eggs for sale a 90 minute drive away. I have a broody hen, but just to be on the safe side, I have my old home-made incubator warmed up and ready. I'm going to pick up some eggs tomorrow. :) :weee I just did a little more reading and saw that Hedemora Chickens were also imported from Sweden... Maybe I should have looked for some of them. :) My great-grandparents came from the same region of Sweden as the Hedemoras. It's fun to think that these chickens may be decended from some of the same stock that my ancestors may have kept.
redhen where are you located in Southeastern PA? I live in Quakertown and have some swedish growing out right now. I won't be keeping all of them and was planning on putting some for sale soon. An example of two of the guys I have growing out.
And I'm over here in Lancaster County with some growing out, as well! I took a few teenagers to a display at our local TSC last weekend and drew a lot of attention! No one had seen such beautiful birds before. I know it was a risk, but it was a mixed animal display and I was the only one with poultry.

Chiques and Sebright,
Wow! I hadn't spent much time on the forums here in a few years and had come back to visit, trying to decide on a breed, and found something about these chickens, I did a little searching and found sfh hatching eggs for sale out in York, so I'm heading out to pick them up later today. I am located of between the 2 of you, between Reading and Boyertown. Now I know where I can get more chicks/eggs to add a little diversity to my flock in the future if I so decide. It seems that everyone who has these chickens loves them. :)
