i'm not anywhere near you but can't help anyways. I've got 3 pullets 4 roos...

and on a positive note...

the 1 sfh egg developing in the bator (only set 2) is now a cute little chick! looks to be blue, probably mille fleur pattern (eventually).

and most of my sfh (possible cross) chicks that hatched, have white flight feathers coming in. 8) we'll see what the rest say when they get here (feathers that is).

Its been quite a while since I updated my photos, so thought I would add a few of the new crew. I didn't hatch out many this year because of uncertainty with work schedules, but here are a few of the new juveniles. I am thrilled with these two dark girls from the group that my broody hatched out.

I think that this girl on the left is my favorite though! She has so much flowering.

Here is my "Mohawk" growing up, and getting quite dark.

Now some of the girls from Dahlisgrams eggs. I have two roos from those eggs as well that will be next years roos. Just realized that I didn't get pics of the roos, so will add those later.

Great pics Bernie!

ki4got - hooray on the chicklet! I want pictures!

Bernie - love those blacks!

(I have a "thing" for birds of color...)
Thanks! I love them too. I don't have any that I consider true blacks yet, but I'm getting closer. The two that are the closest I consider blue with a lot of black on the neck and back, and there is the one that looks kind of like a really dark mille fleur. Those two dark girls could still change quite a lot before they mature. Mohawk continues to surprise me with her changes, but I think she is pretty close to her mature coloring. I can't wait until next spring....new roos and more surprises!

Good news today! Johanna the SFH broody hatched her 1st chick today
wee.gif

She's still got 6 more eggs under her. She's already had the chick out a few hours ago when I put her food down. She got the chick out & it was pecking at the feed with her. Then she ushered it back up the walk to where she has the other eggs. It's so cute!
