BDM - How's that gorgeous girl that I want doing?
She's doing great - thanks for asking!

I'm thinking that's alma? her dark girl? I've got chicks from her in the brooder and more due to hatch on the 12th.

we're pretty sure Mace is Alma's primary roo. though I think one of the chicks is crested so Sorenson snuck in somewhere. LOL
I was in Roanoke today, so expect a special delivery from your DH!
Actually LM loves Big Birta. Alma is my largest girl (blue/red) and Birta is my next largest girl (black).

I MUST have eggs from those two dark hens.
well, the goal of this marathon hatching thing (which I hope will continue into spring) is to have LOTS of pullets to choose from for US, and the rest will be for sale at Gilmanor the first Saturday in May... (Glen Allen Virginia) at least, that's MY plan. LOL

well, I've never shipped before, but it might be an option down the road... I've been contemplating it more and more, since I've so few hens laying for some varieties I have... (blrw primarily). might make more sense to hatch everything I get and sell half grown chicks, than to ship most of the eggs and have only a couple hatch on the other end.

I'm sort of in the same boat. Takes me 3-4 days to get a dozen eggs together because only a few are laying right now. I'm planning to start hatching everything I can every few weeks and get a goodly number together -- if I can sell enough birds and stuff at a swap, I can take the time off to go to a swap. But...I'd also like to help out folks and trade genetics, and eggs are the easiest way to try to do that. Such a conundrum.

Yup - as long as we have room for them, I will continue to supply you and enable you - LOL! I have 8 or 9 girls of all different color laying now and eggs coming out the wazoo... not necessarily MY wazoo, but my nest boxes runneth over.

We will find a way to get LM some of Birta's babies... somehow!
