Thank you, they are new to us an was just wondering how they looked. we havent seen to many of them to tell.
sfh should have yellow legs, 4 toes, no feathering on the shanks or feet. they must be mottled but can be any combination of buff/red/gold and blue/black/splash. single combs and crested is also a possibility but not required. if they are crested, the comb may have an S curve to it.
occasionally you might find a primarily black, blue or splash bird with little or no red pigment, but they are not too common. Leigh's got one splash girl who is nearly solid white, I've got a blue mottled girl with almost no gold in her hackles.

as well as some others here. It will take people like us that care to keep SFH as pure as they were when they first came to us to keep the breed from being ruined by the popularity it's gaining. I take pride in my birds and their heritage. For too many it's a matter of money. If it looks like a SFH and they can sell it as a SFH, then that's what matters to them.
