Well...momma finally did come out again today and I got a look at the other eggs. No activity I can see at all.

Today baby followed her out but I did not see baby eat or drink. Mom went back to the nest and baby followed her and was able to get back in.

Cute overload!!!
(Sorry about the other eggs - it's hard with shipped eggs no matter the breed or season.)

Funny that mom hasn't pushed them out yet, though???

hello, I'm new to this thread, as i will be picking up an 11-month old SFH roo tomorrow afternoon, mostly to look after my flock (of various other breeds) when they're out free-ranging, as they have been developing a tendency to wander... but also very excited about getting my first SFH, and hoping to find him some swedish girlfriends sooner or later!

in the meantime, reading back through this thread to learn all i can...
best,
laura

This Morning!!

and I am not sure if the wing sexing works on these but here are some pics of the wings if anyone can tell me??

That one is the reddish-brown chick

And the black one! I know it may be hard to see but if you enlarge it it may help! it has a long one short one long short but the short ones have a long sting looking feather out the to of them, any ideas!

I believe its long short long short = pullet
long long long = rooster
