Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Gunnar died of liver failure. Chances are it was some sort of poison - either he ate a mouse or some bugs that came out of our neighbor's house after the exterminator sprayed, or a black widow bite (we have a lot of black widow spiders here).

We miss him terribly!

As sad as this is...it is also good news. With the rampant spread of disease, this is the best news possible.

Again..sorry for your loss.

This is my Swedish Flower (I believe) I think it's absolutely beautiful. And sweet tempered and loving. I'm hoping it's a girl. Though I really don't know how old it is at this point. 4 weeks maybe? Does anyone know or can they tell? I don't see any waddles or a comb though you can see it has a teeny one.

That's terrible. I'm very sorry. We do everything at home to protect ours, but we have no control over what our neighbors do. :(

Hey everyone, my immediate family and friends were well out of the terrible storm on Monday afternoon. Thanks you for thinking of me. My heart is breaking for the families who lost children. The very best in communities and people come out at times like these and many, many efforts are in place to aid those in need. My own loss seems both at once too small and yet too hard to talk about just now. Late last evening a very big storm came through our area. A stray Husky broke into the big pen and took down all my adult SFH plus a little Ameracauna that lived with them. I do have some babies from those sweet birds but I'm going to miss them so much. I'm going to lurk a little less for a little while. I need some time.Hope all are doing well.
Best,
Cathie Sue
