Swedish Flower Hen Thread

Nice to see you back again! Pretty babies, my guess would be this bottom pic is a pullet- the one above it a cockerel
same thoughts I had, just wanted other opinions! thanks you two! also KI4GOT I just passed through Roanoak VA 3 weeks ago! visiting family in PA!!

Sounds like you're headed my direction! I'm about 20 minutes from Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, and Lebanon if you are in this part of Pennsylvania!
well Im home now but originally I am from Lock Haven PA near State College area! Moved to Lancaster for a few months and then I decided to move with my father to FL....one thing I really miss is the mountains!
:)

just a couple of photos to share, of my 12-week-old or so pullet astrid:

i love how watercolor-y her feathers look!
Aw! She looks a lot like my Astrid did at that age!

well, found a bonus today... a friend from the Roanoke swaps had gotten some eggs from Leigh back a while ago, one hatched into a beautiful mille pullet. 8) so one more gunnar baby added back to the sfh population.

Y'all can't imagine how thankful I am that ki4got snatched this baby up! She's beautiful and getting along well in quarantine - I didn't want her to be alone so I put my smallest (runt) 13-week-old pullet. (I figure in the unlikely event the new girl is sick, the runt would be the "smartest" choice if there was going to be a loss - but truth be told, I'd be devastated as the little runt girl is the sweetest thing!) The two seem to be getting along just great.

Thank you again, ki4got!! And the momma bird that adopted the two day-old chicks is doing great with them (that cochin chick is so teensy!)

Quote: glad she's settling in well. have to say I was tempted to NOT tell you bout her. LOL but I know how much you wanted a mille girl.

well, hoping teeny does well... and hoping he/she's mottled. I lost my black mottled roo overnight. not sure what's up, sunny found him this morning for me, hanging out in a carrier (without door) and just dead. no signs of anything going on, and looks like he just died in his sleep. still have my blue mottled guy and his 2 girls and 2 pullets. so i'm not done with that variety by any means, I just like to keep a backup roo.
