this is Gunnarsson. outside the pen because he was being a booger to the girls. (and showing the crested girl flirting with him again LOL)

sorry, none to sell. we'll have some pullets later on this spring, but right now they're all babies or eggs waiting to be incubated (tomorrow! yay!)

love the babies, but I tell ya this time of year is a tough one for them. had to bring one little girl inside last night, she just wasn't high enough on the pecking order I guess. but she warmed up and is hollering for her breakfast with the rest of the brooder babies right now. LOL

Hens and pullets are hard to come by for me my hatches seem to have more males than females.

This winter has been hard on everything, my poor sfh roo has frost bite. My ducks don't want to move, so over this.. .. can I ask where you are? Already planing to get chicks from haplessrunner. But it's all chicken math!

We are all hanging on to all the pullets and hens we can get, in general. I'm not too far from Hapless and might have some chicks in the spring. I'm waiting for mine to start laying again consistently, have one person who wants eggs, then I can start setting and hatching.

Ki4got (who hatched all my eggs aside from those my own broodies hatch) is in the Roanoke area and I'm near Rocky Mount.

Ki4got is hatching all the eggs I don't sell. We may have a few pullets up for grabs later this spring. She and I will go through the hatched birds, divvy them up between us and sell the ones we don't have room for or the ones of a particular color we already have plenty of.

I just wanted to say thank you too all who were so kind when my cockerels were picked off by the neighbors dog the other day. Special thanks to HaplessRunner and Bulldogma for their generosity in helping me replace them.

This is a picture of my new cockerels being chased by one of my hens. We let everyone out to free range today while we built a goat hutch. These boys aren't sure what to think of the ladies, so they run from them. When it was time to go roost, they found a limb in my fig tree surrounded by thorns... so I have some new scratches from catching them to return to their coop.
