How do you know it's a her? I always call them "him" until I know.... Even when they're allegedly sexed.

That one looks a little too confident to be a girl. But I have no real evidence.

I read some place that chicks of unknown sex are called her/she until the sex is known. Can't remember where I read that. But I still think she's a she. Other one I had I am pretty sure was a he. Time will tell.

Ah yes, time tells all. I hadn't heard the gender unknown thing before. I just know I'm always happy when it turns out to be a girl and not a boy!

I have been raising Swedish Flower Hens for over 3.5 years and typically the begin to lay at 5-6 months.

same experience here. Had them for 3 or 4 years now.

There is exceptions though as of now I have two that's around 8months and not an egg one, freeloaders!
