HI everyone .
Out of the 20 eggs I got 2 that hatched a light one and a dark one . They are about 4 weeks old can we sex them yet ?

Here is the dark one this one is more mellow the other one attacks my fingers

This is the light one and the finger eater. Are sweedish flower hens sapose to be flighty or aggressive ?
Anyways can you tell at this age if these are males or females and is there a reason they are so diffrent?

I will tell you what you might want to wait a bit longer. One of my girls Fatina, I bought her as a juvenile from GFF and they were sure she was a roo, so I named her Fabio, nope she laid eggs, and they one Jenny said was a girl turned out to be a boy.. I think it might be a roo, but wait another month to see.

Something ate my 8 Swedish Flower chicks last night. Have never had any predators till now. They were just a week old. Something dug under the dog house and fence then pulled open the door i had attached. I didn't put the bolts through the eyes so I'm sure i made it easy. Well, 'm back down to 7 and really mad at myself. I got them as day old chicks from Greenfire I can't afford to replace them now. Just venting, thanks.
I know where your coming from, I had spend hundreds on chicks in the spring and had 2 possoms with babies that killed every night.

11 out of my 20 shipped eggs made it into lock down! Keeping everything crossed here for a good hatch with the remaining eggs!

CasieD - Good luck on you hatch. Are these the first SFH eggs you are incubating? I'm up in northwestern WI and looking for an unrelated roo, got 8 chicks in Feb. from A&J Farm, six ended up as roos and all the chicks have the same father so hoping to find something unrelated to us with my two SFH hens. Where are you located in central WI?

Hi! Yes these are my first SFH eggs. I bought hatching eggs on ebay (seller chickeneggs123 in PA). I'm just west of Wausau. Once mine hatch and I see what I've got maybe we can work out a swap or something!
