Mine is 8'xalmost 3' lol is a 1/2" deep enough?

Yes. The nest boxes are mounted under the poop tray and slide out for east access.

I love your coop I had photos of it saved on my last phone. People have been giving me grief for using drywall( was free and otherwise I needed over $200 worth of plywood to over the insulation) and for building my poop table lol. I am extremely happy with it so far and I think not too shabby for a 24 year old girl lol

We mounted our nest boxes under our roost bar too. I used dish pans that I can pop out if I ever need to clean. So easy. I love this way because it still leaves floor space for the girls underneath. ( this picture was taken before the girls had moved in) BTW I no long use the rice hulls. Now I use straw on the floor of my coop and pine shaving in the nest boxes.
