I’ve seen tons of threads about this stuff...almost seems too good to be true. Right now in my coop I’m using pine shavings. I have horses so I always have those in stock anyways. However, being able to just sift the poop out of the pdz looks absolutely dreamy. I have a 4 x 8 coop. The roosting boards run the entire length of the coop and unfortunately with how it’s set up, it’s not an option to add poop boards. So would it be safe to use the pdz directly on the floor of the coop? Basically as the bedding? Does anyone do this as opposed to poop boards?
Also side note...I saw in a thread that someone mentioned that pdz placed directly on the floor of the coop will ruin the floor unless you have linoleum down. Is this true?

I do not use it but we;ve heard good things about Sweet PDZ in the chicken coop. Our new coop was designed with plenty of ventilation and easy clean up. We also have some large planters/compost bins near the coop and from what I;ve read, PDZ is perfect. May try it one day. Good luck and keep us posted if you try it in the coop!

I definitely will! Thank you

Does this stuff exist in australia??? I’ve only heard of Americans using it. Then again I only watch American homesteading channels because they all seem to be American....

Honestly I’m not too sure! Does your local farm store have a website? Maybe do a search on there

Looks like it’s only supplied to farm stores in the US...but it says you can order it on Amazon and Chewy, so if they can ship to Australia I’d imagine you could get it

Local farm store?? I don’t know what that is… Is this another American thing?? They have all these things called “feed stores” and “Walmart”… We don’t have those, but they sound nice ... we just have Bunnings basically, it’s where I get some hardware and some plants. I also live in the suburbs, I don’t know maybe there are “farm stores” out in the country?.????.

Yup feed stores! Basically anywhere you can find chicken food, bedding, supplies, etc.

We use pdz only in our run for both our chickens/turkeys & for the ducks. Our coops don’t seem to need it but when we built them this year we did put linoleum down as flooring with clean up in mind. Any stuck on & we spray it down with the hose & use a squeegee

Bet your run has zero odor! That’s what I’m looking forward to most with this in the coop. That and the ease of scooping the poop. I wish I had done linoleum...I painted my floor about 5 layers of exterior paint. I suppose I could always go back and add linoleum
