When my kids tell me I'm mean I say it's cause I want to live forever!

People are getting paranoid. I have a sinus infection brewing (pine tree pollen gets me every year) and my voice is hoarse. I stay home if I'm running a fever, but the hoarseness is making co-workers want to avoid me....

Supposedly we have the first case in Minnesota now.
I havent looked at the news since early this morning so dont know what the status is on that. They did close the middle school (I think it was in Cold Spring).

Fuzzer, I believe they speaking of the working class that cannot afford health insurance and make too much for assistance.

Thank You. I've read quite a few post's on here from people that are uninsured. They don't seem to be the leeches that are drawing the very life blood from the USA. They seem to be honest hard working ade in the USA people tha simply earn too much to get benefits and too little to afford 1200 a month for insurance. Wake up and tune in to your fellow people. You're absolutely right about this being a poster child for national health care. Unfortunately some people can't see the light.

Yes we can take from the rich and redistribute a small percentage of their wealth. They wouldn't be rich if it wasn't for the people that buy their products. They live in a country where they are able to get rich because they are able to get money from those that are not rich. I'm not saying that they are stealing the money. but keeping us around and in a healthy state helps them too. They can afford to give some of it back. Either through money or if they are a doctor or something they can give some free medical care. I have real respect for doctors that provide their services for free occasionally to help those less fortunate.

Well TX has it's first death from swine flu and the child only lived an hour from us. That particular school district closed for disinfecting for the rest of the week. I told my kids to wash their hands several times a day, and stay away from the Mexican kids. Not because they are Mexicans but because in this area it is very possible that they could either have new illegal arrivals in their homes (yes this is where the border is an issue, closing won't cure it but it will aid in the defense of the illness) and they don't know if anyone in their home has traveled to Mexico or not recently. My daughter said she heard a recommendation that people should stay 3 feet from others. I don't know how true that is but I do know that they can't do that in the halls during passing period because the halls are packed.
