My ducks right foot/toes seem swollen, I'm not really sure what from or why, but she is limping pretty badly. Maybe a snake bit her foot, she might've gotten a splinter, sore from water, bumblefoot; I really don't know. Also the hurt foot doesn't seem to open all the way on the left of the middle toe. You can see it in the first picture.

On the hurt foot, notice that the one toe is the WRONG color.

I would soak both feet in warm salt water then look at the feet again.

Looks like there are a couple of scabs. Small, no big deal scabs, I see no sign of bumble foot. But you should maybe look at them more closely once the feet are clean.

BUT I do NOT think the scabs are the problem. It looks like the one toe was smashed, or pinched, or .....something bad. so....

I recommend:

1. After a good soak, feel all over carefully for any break, and cold, warm, hot spots.(compared to healthy flesh)

2. For cold spots, I would worry those might be dead, rot and fall off. Might all be OK in the end and heal fine.

3. Hot spots...might be bad infection, give lots of TLC, could pull through fine.

4. Warm spots, maybe just a sprain.

No matter what you find, I would say:

Isolate her in a dog crate or small area with food and water right in front of her to minimize movement and promote healing. Clean the cage every day, soak the foot every day...

See how it goes.

Good luck!!!

After I soaked her, her foot looks a lot better than the above photos. It still seems like bumble to me, but I wouldn't know; I've never had any problems like this. I don't know how her foot could've gotten stepped on or anything, my ducks don't follow me and I'm extremely careful with the door. Ill share a new photo of her clean foot tomorrow.

As to bumble... the most swollen spot by a scab is on the good foot.

For bumble, after soaking in warm water with Epsom salt the scab is often soft enough that it will gently peel away with any underlying kernel of infection coming out with it.

If you are keeping her isolated, you can just soak her feet every day, and keep them clean and healing that way.

Keeping bandages on can be tricky, but are important in cases of more severe bumble.

As to how she hurt herself. .. it can be tricky to figure out the cause.

I completely agree on the Epsom salt soaks. If you can do it for a couple minutes twice a day that should help. Make sure you don't let her drink any of the salt water. Turmeric can help to reduce inflammation which in turn will also help reduce some of the pain.

Clear iodine would be for cleaning out/disinfecting the hole after removing the bumble or other infections. Turmeric is ingested.
