your issue is definately infectious if its showing up in multiple chickens in a small flock. Insonsitent eggs? Off egg production or eggs that are wierd shaped? Have your eggs seemed watery and less 'firm' than usual?
Any nasal discharge?wierd noises from the chickens? Listen to their breathing and see any sound congested...if you have any one of those 3 symptoms on top of swollen eye and any mishaped eggs or watery eggs I'd say you have infectious bronchitis.
the thing with IB is you can't in good conscience ever sell a chicken, chick, or egg off your property. so you'll need to do what we refer to as "owning a closed flock" as long as your existing birds are alive and on your property, no bird leaves and no new birds come on it. you can still breed from your flock, but again nothing leaves.- if you can get the infection to receed and become dormant, any new bird that you bring onto your property will get the disease and become infected showing symptoms, which can then cause your 'original carriers' to show symptoms again. that would be retreating the whole flock again...
If you think you have something infectious I suggest calling your agriculture department and ask if they charge for avian testing and if so how much (alot of states do it free) - and have them test your flock for infectious diseases.
I had a bird dropped off years ago without my permission (a 'free' roo, someone dumped while i wasn't home) and it introduced IB and mareks into my huge flock of birds. I had no choice since I sold eggs and chicks and dual purpose roosters to other people, and I had neighbors who owned chickens, I was forced to cull 80% of my flock - any that showed the slightest symptom, and quarantined the rest and even purposely stressed them to get them to show symptoms after a few weeks...had them tested and everything. only then after extensive cleaning and resanitizing did I deem my birds 'healthy' to let anything leave my property.
