My 4 year old hen has a red swollen abdomen. I soaked her in warm epsom salts. Her vent isn’t red or swollen. Any thoughts on what this is? I fed her an egg and water and she gobbled it up. Her waddles are still red. I have her separated. She seemed fine yesterday. Here is a picture of poop too. Treatment? Thank you!

She's got the two main symptoms of water belly (ascites): swollen and red abdomen. If that's it, there is no treatment, although some have prolonged life by using a syringe and removing the water daily. I hope that's not it, but it's the only thing I can figure is wrong with her. I'm sorry.

Ceylon Cinnamon kills E-coli and salmonella bacterial. You can add the powder to their feed or add a few drops of the extract to their water. Raw ginger with Greek yoghurt or honey daily is also fantastic for flammatory issues. I am a Forensic Scientist and have an Advanced Diploma in Biosciences.
