GiGi a BLRW is 4 years old and has been a very healthy chicken. Today around 4pm I noticed the side of her face around her right eye is very swollen. here are pictures. Called the Vet and sent him a pic. He said possible allergic reaction put Neosporin-H every 6 to 8 hours. Anything else I should be doing?? or looking for.

P.S. I did Isolate her from flock. she is eating, drinking and has lots of energy.

She could have an allergic reaction or have been stung by a bee, but I think that's pretty rare in chickens. I'm glad she's feeling well and eating and drinking.
Here is a link that can help:

Best of luck!

I did start her on Tylon 50 last night 1/2 cc orally and will do that for the next 5 days. This morning the right side of her face is the same and now the left side is slightly swollen. I do have Vet RX so I will try that too. So far the rest of the flock is not showing Symptoms.

I read up on Infectious Broncitis and the books and web pages said the anti biotic only helps keep her from getting secondary bacterial infections because the IB is a virus and just has to run its corse.

This is like my worst chicken nightmare! I pray it doesn't get worse. Now I will clean the entire coop out and Sanatize with Nolvasan. But there is no way to sanitize the whole back yard.
