tail down, lethargic , drinking.

Oh gosh, I am so sorry for your loss and the troubles with Omlet. :hugs

Obviously some sort of bacterial infection, possibly MS. (Mycoplasma Synoviea) Lots of daily drainings of the foot pad and long term antibiotics.

Definitely get a necropsy done if another dies suddenly, it's the best way to figure out what you are dealing with.
Hi,
She has been on Amoxicillin 250 mg 2x a day for a week now. There is still some infection. She is not wheezing , or coughing. And sadly, being in he city,...We do not have a vet capable of seeing her till mid February. . Here they classify chickens as exotic pets..and only one vet will see her. He is booked. It is $170 to walk in the door.
Do you think I should switch to a different antibiotic ? Maybe the amoxicillin isn’t hitting it...could be MS as you suggested. I had ruled that out because I didn’t see any obvious respiratory issues.
but maybe my med isn’t hitting it. I’ll try anything that I am able to buy online. I love her so much.

You may want to try something different.
@Eggcessive what do you suggest?

The rule of thumb with antibiotics is if you don't see some improvement, even a small bit, to what you are treating in the first week, chances are you are using the wrong antibiotic.

Amoxicillin is a wonderful antibiotic for certain bacterias, but it's not the best for deep tissue infections. However that's not to say it won't treat what you are working with. I can say that 250mg 2x a day may not be enough for her? I don't know what she weighs but she might need it 3x a day.

All this being said, if you are trying to treat any deep tissue infection, Amoxicillin is not my go to choice. If by chance this is MS, which is also a very deep tissue infection, Amoxicillin won't do the trick. I prefer Doxycycline. It is such a broad spectrum antibiotic and has a lot of power in all areas of the body. Baytril is another antibiotic although expensive, that can really kick some butt, I have used them both together when treating MS.

I have tylan soluble powder/100g ...it says it expired 2016 , but it’s been stored in a dry place...maybe it’s still good? But I’ll buy whatever you suggest.

If you are treating sinus and and respiratory ailments, Tylan is a good choice. I have used expired meds, the dry types stay viable for a long time if kept properly.

I’ll need something I can buy online. I see baytril 10% liquid is available. It’s only $24. Sounds too inexpensive. my EE is small, she weighs about 3 pounds. I’ll weigh her today to be sure.
I have clindamycin too

I don’t hear or see anything respiratory issues . Just those foot boils. ....her appetite or water consumption hasn’t decreased but she has occasional normal poop, (like Canada goose poop) and 75% runny poo.... Like mushed spinach and water.
Her comb is rosy...it was pale during her molt.
95% of her feathers are back from molting.
Walking better.
Some of the incisions healed. Some have a tiny little more cheesy puss refilling.
ugh.

If all you are dealing with is this foot issue, then the Tylan and the Amoxicillin probably aren't the best choices. Both of those are used more for respiratory ailments. I would try Doxycycline on her.

The runny poo is no doubt coming from the meds and the bacteria. You might add a bit of bananas or cooked white rice to her diet to help slow the intestines down and dry up some of the diarrhea. No probiotics until you are done with the antibiotics.
