Taking a Poll: how many weeks until your EE/OEs started laying?

I have 3 EE. The first laid at 27 weeks, the 2nd at 26 weeks and the 3rd just laid her first one this week at 28 weeks. Beautiful eggs and very very tasty!!

I found a rubber egg in the driveway....this could be her as all others were accounted for. Oh my gosh...this could be her week....!

First green egg from my EErs!!!! I have 2 which are 28 & 32 weeks so unsure which is laying. (I am sure this is affected by the lack of light as well) I almost think it may be the younger of the two. Neither of them are particularly red in the face either.

Update: I was getting 1-2 olive eggs for a few weeks and then they petered out again! I am not sure if all of the ~10 I got this spring are OEs, some may be EEs, but they sure don't like the lack of sunlight! I even have strings of Christmas lights to supplement, and they're still freeloading. I guess they just arent good winter layers. My older girls are starting back up again after their moult, so I guess I won't be too upset

Had ours free ranging until the neighbors got new puppies that also free range.
Not sure exactly when they started laying, but found a shell in the yard...
Figured the hens were laying and the dogs were finding the eggs.
Since we put them up about a week ago, both have laid a small green egg.
Was hoping at least one would lay blue, but at least they're finally laying.
I don't know for sure how long they've been laying, but they are 10 months old now....

I really think they are about average in maturity since they're basically crosses.

Violets first egg came at 41 weeks old. Greenish blue. And her bloom leaves a few spots on it. Yay! Not sure if the shorter days delayed things a few more months or what. But I was really questioning if there were fertility issues for her and I'd just be feeding her and not getting anything in return.

But she's. Proven shes a girl through and through now.

well, this gives me hope. your story about violet, is a bit like what is happening with 3 EE's we got as 3 day-olds last march. they began to lay in late summer and then tapered off in the fall. i live in the PNW, our winter has been exceptionally mild, temperature-wise and they have yet to resume laying. i know they lay, pretty blue eggs, but when will they start up? three other hens (french copper marans) that we got at the same time have been laying steadily since the end of january. hmmmm. patience, patience.

Autumn: I had 1 wyandotte and 1 rir lay from Nov to Jan out of 9. Those ee s had nothing for 3 months. We got some -33 -25 temps and I put a heat lamp out in the coop. I'm sure the red light kick started things for us again. Although ive read that February is the time many resume any how. Ive shut off the lamp now this week as were not sub zero any more. Well see if things hold out. Violet had me worriedtho' as she never laid last fall like her brooder sisters did. I'm tickled she decided to join the layers club.

Oh your egg basket must be gorgeous with the French copper marans and ee eggs! How lovely.

My girls will be a year old next week. They have been confined for over 2 months now, and I haven't gotten a single egg from them. I figure one of 3 things is happening: Either they are laying, then eating the eggs, (shells and all); or something else is getting the eggs, (nothing can get in the pens, so they would have to push the eggs out - like my guinea did last year); or, they're simply on strike - maybe getting their inner works in order.

They DO lay, just not very often yet. Appreciate any advice or support.
