I'm raising a bumper crop of three chicks right now, after moving my six eight-week-olds into the coop with the six adult hens and one rooster.
I had so much luck taming them with nightly visits to my lap, that I decided to start these babies on lap-training early. It's made all the difference in the world in how tame and easy the eight-week-olds are now to round up when needed. Most will simply come to me when I call them and I just pick them up.
These three are eight days old now, and have been doing daily lap-training for six days. They're almost completely unafraid of me, and enjoy snuggling in my lap and falling asleep. The third photo is to point out there are small hazards to lap(top) training.
