Tell me what to do

We gave him a shot of Penicillin yesterday. That booger woke up this morning, opened his eyes and stood up. The purple is gone out of his comb. Had messages that indicated they thought it might be mold. I don't know whether to keep up treatment of Penicillin or let him go.

Keep giving the shots! Horses get shots of it twice a day, maybe that would also help.

I guess I should add that I have never been told to give an antibiotic for less than five days, shot, pill or liquid. In fact, I have been told by vets and doctors that antibiotic treatment should extend a couple of days past the point of a healthy animal/person to ensure that the bacteria has been dealt with.

Is it really black o r could it be blood? Put some of it on a white paper towel, add a little water if it' really dry. If it's blood, you should be able to tell. Can you take a picture of it?

No it was green. had some grass in it. Doesn't look like blood.

Green usually just means that they haven't been eating. Keep giving the shots if it seems like he's improving.
