That's true. I hope that's all it was.Maybe she had a little bit of a “clog” in her gizzard or other part of the digestive tract?

Thank you, I've ended up starting to tube feed. I really think, and others I've spoken to as well think the same that she's possibly sustained neck or nerve injuries.. possibly neurological as well. She doesn't seem to be able toYes, the fox attack does add an element to her situation. I hope she's continued to improve for you. Sometimes if there's a reluctant eater or one that's not looking "right", I mix up some warm sugar water and give it to them via syringe. I start by dripping a little right at the crack of the beak, l like you're oiling a hinge. Many times it only takes a couple tries and then they really go after the sugar water - which can often stimulate appetite. Again, I hope she's doing better and continued eating and drinking and pooping for you!

!!!! Inbetween writing this I went to feed her. FOR THE FIRST TIME since all of this happened I saw her scratch herself with her foot, and she went to eat!! She didn't quite reach it, I tried helping but when I moved it closer she'd back her neck up, eventually she stopped trying and I tube fed, also when I put her back in her crate for the first time since the injury she sat down on her own!! I'm really going to try to get her to eat on her own tomorrow if I can. I think she might make it.

That's amazing I'm glad you were able to save one. I wouldn't doubt it honestly, it's been okay since thankfully looks pretty normal. I loved it too, it was so beautiful. Words can't even really express. I was really starting to lose hope, now I think there's a chance.I LOVE IT when that happens!! Based on your description of that poop being pinkish, I'm guessing her digestive system underwent some damage which probably contributed to the crop issue. We had our Thanksgiving miracle when a hen that had an unknown injury had her head twisted and down. It went on for some time- I was tube feeding including Nutridrench and molasses and baby parrot food and aspirin in her case - and after a few days and that nagging note of doubt wondering if she would get better- on Thanksgiving morning I took her out of her crate having prepared "breakfast" - and she stood up normally and started talking, then ate and drank normally. It definitely doesn't happen every time- but chickens are amazing at healing themselves. I will continue thinking happy healing chicken thoughts your way- she's made it this far!!
Sweet!! Thank you. I think I'm okay right now. I researched before doing it and it seems like it's went well. I'm hoping today I won't need to anymore as well!Welcome to Team Tube Feeding! Let me know if you need and help tubing.
